A new acquisition, an historic crystal.

This is a twinned gem watermelon tourmaline crystal from the world famous "Tuesday Pocket" found in 1972 at the Dunton Quarry in Newry, Maine. Almost impossible to find these days, every specimen we obtain might be the last.

We are considering selling our new "cactus crystal". It is just under 3 inches long, weighs 62 grams, has at least 3 very sweet "slices" in it and very likely as many as 5. There may also be a couple of small bicolor gemstones to be cut as well, but cutting this beauty would be a shame. Better if it went in a collection as is.
