Maine bicolor tourmaline and diamond ring.

This ring features a rare and beautiful find: a large, evenly divided bicolor tourmaline from the Dunton Quarry in Newry, Maine. Since the discovery of this deposit in 1972, gemstones of this quality have become harder and harder to come by.

Many larger bicolor tourmaline show a flaw where the colors meet, but this gem is stable, with clear color separation and attractive intensity. Like nearly all Maine bicolor tourmaline, it contains natural inclusions formed during its growth, which add to its individual character.

The Dunton Quarry last produced tourmaline in 1974, and no new material has been found there since. Any Dunton tourmaline is considered special, and well-cut bicolors are especially uncommon. Don't miss this one!
